A better building panel that nobody was searching for. We stopped advertising the product and started advertising what it saves a builder. 25 leads across all of 2025 became 531 in eight months, at 94% lower cost per lead.

HydroBlok, a waterproof building panel manufacturer, went from 25 leads in all of 2025 to 531 in eight months, at 94% lower cost per lead and on roughly the same budget.

01

A Million Impressions and only One Lead

Across all of 2025 the Meta account spent $13,962 and produced 25 leads, which works out to $558 a lead. One month delivered over a million impressions and generated exactly one. Meanwhile the sales team had no pipeline to work, so every conversation started cold, one builder at a time, and that is a ceiling you cannot spend your way past.

02

There was no demand to capture, We had to create it

The account was running awareness campaigns against a product with no existing demand, and the creative sold the panel instead of the math. Builders are not searching for a new panel, because they already have a method that works, and a method that works beats a method that is better. There was no demand sitting there to capture, so capture-shaped marketing was always going to fail, and specifications and features do not answer the only question a builder actually has, which is what this does to his job.

We Sold the Values that Matter on the Job Site

We rebuilt the account around creating demand instead of harvesting it. - Switched Meta from awareness objectives to lead generation. - Rewrote creative around labor hours saved, callbacks avoided and schedule impact. - Split the message by buyer, since the installer holding the trowel and the builder signing the bid care about different things. - Added retargeting once prospecting created enough interested traffic to make it worth running. - Rebuilt the form and landing page so leads arrived qualified enough to act on. Same product, same budget, completely different conversation.

531 Leads at $32, On the Same Budget

2026 year to date, through September 10, against full year 2025. - Leads: 25 to 531 - Increase in lead volume: 21x - Cost per lead: $558 to $32 - Reduction in cost per lead: 94% - Best month, cost per lead: $10.18 in March - Best month, lead volume: 160 leads in July - Qualification rate to sales conversation: 25% Spend barely moved. 2026 has spent about $3,000 more than all of 2025 and produced 506 more leads, so what changed was the message rather than the budget, which makes the growth repeatable instead of purchased. Retargeting alone spent $382 and produced 36 leads at $10.61 each, making it the cheapest source in the account. At a 25% qualification rate, 531 leads is a steady flow of real builder conversations instead of cold outreach. And a builder is never one sale, because if HydroBlok gets spec'd into his standard detail then every project he runs uses it, which is why a $32 lead in this category is worth far more than a $32 lead almost anywhere else.
